HOLT MORRIS

Following last years thoroughly enjoyable outing to this venue last year, a return visit this was considered vital and has duly been arranged. Muster 7.30 pm. for roughly 7.45 pm. start

As has now become habitual, we will be performing two half-hour spots on the Village Green, the first at around 11.30.am. and the second at around 2.30.pm. with our improvised Spring Wassail at the Cider Tent at around 4.00.pm. Actual Times will be firmed up closer to the event.

Our contribution to this eclectic musical event begins with an informal gathering of we dancers and our invited visiting sides on Holt Village Green at Mid-day, where we warm up with a convivial ale or two from The Ham Tree and two or three dances apiece, before providing the main out-door entertainment on the Playing Field Dance Piste from around 1.30.pm. onwards, in the warm early Summer sunshine. Another of the firmly-fixed dates in our Dance calendar, this event is always a high point of the year, with the procession of dancing sides through the centre of the town attracting thousands of enthusiastic onlookers on the Saturday afternoon. Catch us throughout the two days at various locations dotted about the centre of town. The event programme will give specific details.

Some of the more observant among all you browsers may have noticed that this outing just happens to coincide with a significant football match taking place between England and Uruguay in Brazil. In response to our very late discovery of this unfortunate coincidence, the landlady of the Three Magpies has agreed to postpone our much-anticipated visit this Summer without a cancellation fee, and so you may well find many of us at one of our local Holt headquarters, The Tollgate Inn, enjoying a relaxing pint whist watching England confidently starting their progress towards the knockout stages. May we extend our apologies to all of you who were considering making a profound sacrifice by watching us at Seend and invite you to watch this space, or another rather similar one, for further info.

Join us for a pub jaunt starting at The Red Lion at 7:30pm. Dancing will start at a relaxed 8pm with music to follow in one of the other pubs.

Browsers all... The excitement mounts as the realisation of 25 years of dedicated effort is upon us as our celebratory weekend away in Beer and its environs begins.

With one weekend disappearing into the mists behind us and another advancing rapidly out of the sunlight towards us, we are getting extremely pumped up in anticipation of the activities starting on the 25th. at Westbury.
The Village Pump festival is one that we’ve enjoyed throughout our 25 yrs, firstly under the regular invitation from our old friend Alan Briers, and latterly from our good friend John Alderslade.
Regular pumpers will know that the festival has regained the soul that it somehow lost during its later years at Stoford, and we look forward to being part of the spiriual re-emergence under The White Horse this weekend.

In view of the approaching 25 year celebration preparation and the lack of fitness training during August, this outing has been abandoned in favour of rehearsal at The Mount Pleasant Club. Bradford-on-Avon.

If you would like to, please join us at one of our local headquarters, where we shall be entertaining the captive masses, along with one of the sides who were one of our earliest collaborators in the The Morris crime and still remain willing perpetrators to this very day. Assembling time approx 7.45. pm.

6.45 pm sees us dancing for the assembled masses at our sponsors Evening Xmas "Do." Box Steam Brewery will be serving up their quality wares along with a bite or two to eat and further entertainment beyond our good selves in the form of "Holt Sings." If you haven’t already started, make this the beginning of your Xmas festivities. As always we shall be honoured to entertain. So see you there.
