As part of this burgeoning artistic celebration of cultural diversity, we shall be in evidence conducting a dance workshop with young people, and leading them and anyone else who would like to be involved, in our now legendary wassail ceremony, in the foyer of The Music Centre, from around 5.00 pm. this Saturday. See Bradford-on-Avon Roots Festival website for further information.
The 2016 Calendar is now beginning to fill out, a little like some of our dancers... And first off at time of going website public is our joint dance-out with new young side, Tatters and Tales, who joined us last year for their very first dance-out. Beware our burgeoning fertilty at 10.45 am. outside "The Courts," our own wonderful National Trust gardens in the centre of the village. If you miss us there, catch us all later at "The Tollgate," around mid-dayish where, of course, all manner of fine refreshment is available.
Despite there being far too many cue yous in the rubric for this event, we’re sure you’ll all be queueing (desperate link, or what?) up to see us post 5.30. pm. when this exciting event, for us, kicks off.
Unfortunately our attendance at this event has had to be cancelled.
Yes everyone, we’re back again at this prestigious west-country event. Last year a potential 200,000 people were there to enjoy us. Whether they did or not is open to question, but you can catch us there if you so desire. Specific times and venues within the site will follow. And indeed here they are!
11.00 - 11.30 am. on THE MAIN LAWN.
13.30 - 14.00 pm. on THE MAIN LAWN.
15.30 - infinity in THE "CIDER AND ORCHARD" TENT for our renowned Wassail performance.
One of the liveliest and well-attended dance and folk festivals in the country, Wimborne welcomes us and you for the umpteenth time. The Saturday afternoon procession is pretty darned spectacular, with literally thousands lining the half-mile route. A wonderful occasion to take advantage of the huge number of photo opportunities we proudly offer! Times and venues are available in the festival programme.
Catch us tonight at this great pub venue from 8 pm. onwards.
After what is for us a fallow, retrenchment period over the last couple of months, we will be out forcing ourselves to endure an evening of pub-crawling in Bradford-on-Avon, on Friday evening, the 18th. of November during which we may front up with a dance or two, as we raise money for "Children in Need."
If you fancy catching us and parting with a little of your cash we will be starting out at around 7.30 pm at The Castle Inn and will progress to all points pubwards downhill and around central B-on-A. until beyond 11.00 pm. Listen out for soft strains of melodion, wafting handkerchiefs and co-ercive, money-extraction, water-boarding cries. And then come crawling with us.
We shall, along with Bells Angels, be out and about in the village, performing our very particular brand of post Christmas Day celebratory activity. Some call it dancing. Others are better-informed.
Come out and catch us, if you are so inclined:
10.00 am. Little Parks. 10.45 am. Fir Lawn. 11.30 am. Outside the Superstore. 12.00 noon The Village Green.
After that, post the now ritualistic boules competition, we adjourn to the pubs. The Tollgate first, ending up at The Old Ham Tree, around 1.00/1.15 pm. where the now legendary music and high spirits will accompany enthusiastic, vigorous singing from members of the assembled ensemble, along with your good selves, ably assisted as ever by Mr. John Bond on his trusty old classical guitar. This will extend as long into the afternoon as vocal cords, personnel and ability to stand allow.
See you sometime, we hope
